Sphere Entertainment Announces Sphere XO Student Design Challenge: Public Voting Now Open

The public has a unique opportunity to shape the iconic appearance of the MSG Sphere on the Las Vegas Strip. Sphere Entertainment Co. has announced the inaugural Sphere XO Student Design Challenge, allowing members of the public to vote on the outward design of the Exosphere, the venue’s outer shell that has captured global attention.

More than 100,000 Clark County students were invited to participate in the challenge, with over 100 finalists from elementary, middle, high school, and college levels. Elementary and middle school students created their submissions on a 2D drawing of the Sphere, while high school and UNLV students utilized VR technology and design tools to craft their art.

The public can cast one vote per student group, with four winners chosen by the public vote and another four selected by professional artists who have curated designs for the Exosphere in the past. Winners from elementary and middle schools will receive a $10,000 donation for their school’s art program, while high school and UNLV student winners will be awarded a $10,000 educational scholarship.

The winning designs will be displayed on July 4th to commemorate the first anniversary of the Exosphere, the largest LED screen in the world. Sphere Entertainment Co. President Jennifer Koester expressed excitement about the public’s involvement in choosing the art that will adorn the Sphere on this special occasion.
