Candidates for City of Las Vegas Mayor: Shelley Berkley, Cedric Crear, and Victoria Seaman

The race for the next mayor of Las Vegas is heating up as 14 candidates vie for the position, marking the end of the Goodmans’ 25-year reign in office. With Carolyn Goodman termed out, the primary ballot features three front-runners: former U.S. Rep. Shelley Berkley, Las Vegas City Council members Cedric Crear, and Victoria Seaman.

According to recent polling, Berkley leads with 16% of voter support, followed by Seaman at 12% and Crear at 7%. However, over half of voters remain undecided, setting the stage for a closely contested race. Election Day is set for June 11, with early voting already underway.

Berkley, a Democrat, brings a wealth of experience from her time in the U.S. House of Representatives and Nevada Legislature. She aims to address issues such as homelessness, affordable housing, and economic diversification, leveraging her connections locally and federally to achieve these goals.

Crear, a Las Vegas native, emphasizes public safety, homelessness, and economic diversification in his campaign. With a background in tourism and hospitality, he believes in the importance of selling Las Vegas as a global ambassador for the city.

Seaman, who represents the Summerlin area on the city council, focuses on providing resources for homelessness, supporting small businesses, and diversifying the economy. She aims to continue the city’s growth trajectory by attracting new industries and businesses.

The ballot also includes other candidates such as Kolawole Akingbade, Tera Anderson, Lynn Baird, and more, each bringing their own vision for the future of Las Vegas.
