Mirage Hotel & Casino in Las Vegas to Close, Transform into Hard Rock Hotel & Casino
The iconic Mirage Hotel & Casino in Las Vegas is set to close its doors on July 17, 2024, as it undergoes a transformation into the Hard Rock Hotel & Casino and Guitar Hotel Las Vegas. This announcement comes after Hard Rock International purchased the property in December 2021 and took over operations in December 2022.
Guests with reservations beyond July 14, 2024, will be automatically refunded, and casino workers will receive severance packages totaling around $80 million. The company plans to host hiring events to help employees find new opportunities in the Las Vegas community.
Renovation plans for the property include adding hotel rooms, renovating the casino floor, expanding event space, and adding theater seats. The Beatles LOVE show will end its run on July 7, 2024, and the Secret Garden and Dolphin Habitat has already closed.
The Mirage first opened its doors in 1989 and has been a staple on the Las Vegas Strip for over three decades. The transition to the Hard Rock brand marks a new chapter for this iconic property, promising exciting changes and experiences for future guests.
