Aviators’ Alternative Team Name Promotion Leads to Record Merchandise Sales
The Aviators, Las Vegas’ Triple A baseball team, have seen a surge in merchandise sales following the announcement of an alternative team name promotion. The team revealed that they would be playing as the Las Vegas Gamblers for a special “What If” night, and fans have been clamoring for Gamblers gear ever since.
Vice president of retail operations, Edward Dorville, shared that the online store has been experiencing record numbers in sales, prompting the Aviators to temporarily pull some items off the website to ensure availability for Saturday’s game. The Gamblers’ logo features a whimsical western character pitching dice, with a belt buckle in the shape of the iconic “Welcome to Las Vegas” sign.
In response to fan feedback about the high price of the Gamblers’ replica jersey, two new T-shirts will be available at the game for a more affordable price of $42.99 each. These shirts, in red and black, will feature the western character on the front and are sure to be a hit with fans.
Despite the success of the Gamblers merchandise, Dorville hinted that the team has more alternative team names in store for future promotions. Fans are encouraged to arrive early at Saturday’s game against the Tacoma Rainiers to secure their Gamblers gear before it sells out.
