Bob Tasca III made history at the NHRA 4-Wide Nationals in Las Vegas by recording just the third triple holeshot win in NHRA Mission Foods Drag Racing Series history. Tasca, driving his 11,000-horsepower Ford Mustang, clinched his second career four-wide victory in a thrilling final quad that included Austin Prock, Matt Hagan, and Ron Capps.
Despite having the slowest time in the quad, Tasca’s lightning-fast reaction time of .034 seconds made all the difference as he edged past his competitors to secure his first win of the 2024 season and the 16th of his career. This victory marked the first triple holeshot win in Funny Car history and is sure to go down as one of the most exciting final rounds in four-wide history.
Tasca expressed his excitement after the race, stating, “When you put together a final round where there’s one Ford, one Dodge, one Toyota, one Chevy, that’s why we do it. It’s the only reason we come out here to win for all our Ford fans all around the world.”
In the Top Fuel category, Doug Kalitta emerged victorious with a dominant performance, securing his career four-wide win by clocking a time of 3.715 seconds at 333.58 mph in his Mac Tools dragster.
