Former Football Player O.J. Simpson Assured Fans of Good Health Two Months Before Passing Away
Former football player O.J. Simpson passed away at the age of 76 on April 10 after battling cancer. Just two months before his death, Simpson reassured fans about his health in a video posted on social media.
In the video, filmed before the 2024 Super Bowl in Las Vegas, Simpson expressed gratitude to those who reached out to him and stated, “My health is good. I mean I’m dealing with some issues but hey I think I’m just about over it and I’ll be back on that golf course hopefully in a couple of weeks.”
This message came in response to a report by WPLG claiming that Simpson was in hospice care for prostate cancer. Simpson vehemently denied these rumors in another video, stating, “No, I’m not in any hospice. I don’t know who put that out there.”
In May 2023, Simpson had previously shared on social media that he had completed treatment for an unspecified type of cancer. Despite his health struggles, Simpson remained positive and continued to engage with his fans until his passing.
Simpson’s family confirmed his death in a statement, asking for privacy and grace during this difficult time. The former football player, who was also a convicted felon for the murders of Nicole Brown Simpson and Ron Goldman, leaves behind a complicated legacy.
