Athletics’ supporters rally against relocation from Oakland at Sutter Health Park

Athletics Fans Protest Against Team’s Move Out of Oakland at Sutter Health Park

The Oakland Athletics’ fans are not taking the news of the team’s move to Las Vegas lightly. Dozens of passionate fans gathered at Sutter Health Park to protest against the relocation, organized by The Last Dive Bar and Oakland 68s. Fans showed up wearing A’s gear and holding signs with the message “sell,” expressing their desire for owner John Fisher to sell the team.

The A’s will be playing at Sutter Health Park for the next three seasons, with a potential fourth season, as their permanent home in Las Vegas is not expected to be ready until 2028. Colt Rosenweig, a longtime fan, emphasized the emotional connection between the team and the Oakland community, stating that without the A’s, it would feel like a piece of Oakland’s soul had been ripped out.

This protest is just one of many fan events planned to oppose the A’s move out of Oakland. The lease in Oakland expires after the 2024 season, leaving fans hopeful that the team will reconsider and stay in their beloved city. Stay tuned for more updates on this developing story.
