Las Vegas Tourism Continues to Thrive in March
Las Vegas continues to see a surge in tourism, with over 3.6 million visitors flocking to the city in March. This marks a 4.2% increase compared to last year, showcasing the city’s enduring appeal as a top travel destination.
Despite the absence of the CONEXPO-CON/AGG tradeshow, which typically draws a large crowd every three years, Las Vegas hotels still saw a steady stream of guests. However, convention attendance, hotel revenue, and room prices took a hit without the tradeshow.
Harry Reid International Airport also experienced a 2% increase in passenger traffic, with over 5 million passengers arriving and departing in March. Southwest Airlines led the way with a significant increase in passengers, while Spirit Airlines saw a slight decline.
International travelers also contributed to the tourism boom, with a 26.2% increase in March compared to the previous year. The overall economic reports indicate a strong tourism market in Las Vegas.
With new hotel openings like the Fontainebleau Las Vegas and the Durango Casino & Resort, the city’s hotel occupancy reached over 85% in March. The addition of more rooms to the mix further solidifies Las Vegas as a premier destination for travelers worldwide.
