The Latest Buzz from NFL Media on the Las Vegas Raiders’ Draft Selections

Mixed Reactions to Las Vegas Raiders’ 2024 NFL Draft Class

The 2024 NFL Draft has concluded, and the Las Vegas Raiders have finalized their draft class, with Georgia tight end Brock Bowers as their top pick. With Offensive Coordinator Luke Getsy having two talented tight ends at his disposal, the Raiders are poised to make some exciting offensive plays.

As the draft wrapped up, NFL media released their grades and opinions on each team’s draft class. The Raiders received mixed reactions, with Nate Davis of USA Today giving them a B- grade and ranking them at No. 23. Davis noted the impact potential of Bowers and Oregon OL Jackson Powers-Johnson, both seen as immediate starters.

On the other hand, Sports Illustrated’s Matt Verderame praised the Raiders’ draft haul, giving them an A-. Verderame highlighted the team’s ability to secure top talent without trading up, particularly praising Bowers and Powers-Johnson as key additions to the team.

However, not all media outlets were as impressed with the Raiders’ draft class. Sporting News’ Vinnie Iyer ranked the Raiders as having the worst class in the league, giving them a D grade. Iyer criticized the team for not addressing key positions like quarterback and wide receiver, despite selecting talented players like Bowers and Powers-Johnson.

Ultimately, draft grades are just predictions on paper, and the true test will come when the players hit the field. Regardless of the media’s opinions, the Raiders are focused on giving their all on the field and proving their worth.
