Night Work Scheduled for Brightline West High-Speed Rail Project in Las Vegas Area
LAS VEGAS – Night work is set to begin on the Brightline West high-speed rail project outside of Las Vegas on April 15-16, as crews continue field investigations in the Interstate 15 median. This project aims to connect Las Vegas to the Los Angeles area with a high-speed rail line.
The work will take place from 9 p.m. to 5:30 a.m. on Monday and Tuesday nights, with crews conducting geophysical testing on a three-mile stretch of the median southwest of Sloan. This testing will help identify the characteristics of the site where the high-speed train tracks will be laid.
Daytime surveying and geotechnical boring are also scheduled to continue through Thursday, April 18, between the Nevada-California line and the southwest edge of the Las Vegas metro area. The Brightline West project is touted as “America’s first true high-speed rail system” by the company behind it.
In California, some closures are planned for night work along I-15 from Oak Hill Road to the SR 210 Interchange. The work in both Nevada and California is weather dependent, and dates and times are subject to change.
The Brightline West project has been making progress towards its goal of connecting Las Vegas to the Los Angeles area with a high-speed rail line. Stay tuned for more updates on this exciting development in transportation infrastructure.
